THE NIBARI

The nibari are humans that have been genetically altered over the centuries by the various hemovore groups, like the sa'necari and the vampires. Resistance has been bred out of them and docility bred into them, although there is still some range in their reactions depending on training.

A symbiosis has been genetically cultivated that requires the nibari to either be fed upon, which is the preferred method, or bled using leeches and other methods, in order to be healthy. The latter method leaves them less satisfied with a tendency toward a low level depression. Their blood replenishes itself faster than true humans, and they are sturdier and more resilient also. They are less susceptible to standard human diseases, but have some diseases that are particular to their own kind.

The docility of the nibari is so great that they will go to their deaths on a sa'necari altar without fighting or trying to escape. They will also yield up their weaned children readily, yet they grieve afterward.

Fang-shy nibari are 'put down' before they can reproduce. Occasionally, when an adult nibari goes fang-shy from abuse, the hemovore will place coercions in their minds to help over come it.

Nibari are carefully trained from the onset of puberty in the 26 positions in which they offer blood and sex to their masters. The 26 Positions of Surrender is a nibari training manual produced in the third century of the Common Era by a sa'necari philosopher.

Unlike the 28-day cycle of human women, nibari females have a ninety-day cycle with a 14-day fertility period at the end of each cycle.

When it comes time to sterilize excess males, the hemovores use a technique of removing a section of the vas tubes and cauterizing the ends closed. In this way they insure that these males cannot seed their herds, while not producing feminized eunuchs, which they find distasteful to look at.
