Politics and Culture: Waejontor
Vampires
The only vampires in Waejontor with political power are comprised of those called royals, and most of them are Lemyari of the bloodline of Brandrahoon. Mostly they conceal what they are because the sa'necari consider them rivals. They lead discreet lives and a handful have even been made nobles, such as Lord Hoon (an alias of Brandrahoon) for service to the King's various causes.
Lycans
The fourth group dwelling in Waejontor, mostly in the high plateaux and deep valleys sliced into the forbidding mountains of the Eiryskali range are the lycans. They have political power only among their own clans and are frequently subject to the decrees laid down by the sa'necari overlords.
Violating a decree from the sa'necari overlords can, and sometimes does, result in a demand for a tithe in lives. When this is forced upon the lycans, a community will draw lots for who is to be sacrificed by being given to the sa'necari. This has created a great, simmering hatred of the sa'necari.
Despite this, they keep to their own ways, and operate many of their beliefs in secret, hidden from the sa'necari, but not from the community. This includes an ancient tradition of stoning to death any lycan bitch who becomes pregnant by a sa'necari.
Two things changed since the arrival of the Sharani. When Shaurone invaded Waejontor, the lycans secretly allied themselves with the Sharani. The Sharani were not aware of this. When the sa'necari demanded that the lycans send troops to help repel the invasions, the lycan failed to reply with troops or answers. They quietly disrupted the sa'necari communication lines by assassinating messangers and sending the dispatches to the Sharani generals. The Sharani occupiers still don't know that they were aided by the lycans, however they treat the lycans with the respect the wolves had so long desired.
One small concilation was given to their former masters. Some of the clans allowed them to set up way stations so those sa'necari stealing through the occupied zones could stay in their valleys temporarily. It served two purposes: 1) it concealed the fact that they had rebelled in case the sa'necari ever returned to power, and 2) it allowed them to confine the visitors to a small area instead of wandering all over clan lands. The sa'necari were made to understand that they were there on the lycan's forebearance.
Nibari
Another group of human are the slave class, genetically altered nibari who have no voice in their lives.
